Backcountry Fishing Guide - The flats and backcountry waters in and around Tampa Bay offer some of the finest fishing grounds in the world for Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Trout and Cobia. Steady Action Charters is a fishing charter service that specializes in light tackle / fly fishing trips in the Tampa Bay St. Petersburg area, just an hour drive from Disney World resorts. Corporate or large parties that require multiple boats can easily be arranged.

Steady Action Charters is owned and operated by Captain Jason Prieto, a Florida Gulf Coast native who has been fishing the waters of Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg his entire life.

The charter boat is a 2007 22ft laguna bay boat with an 150 mercury verado, specifically designed for the flats and backcountry waters of Tampa Bay and St. Pete. The boat is equipped with the latest safety and electronics and we use only the finest light tackle gear that is perfectly matched with the targeted fish.

Captain Prieto is well known for his knowledge of fishing the waters around Tampa Bay and is an accomplished tournament winner. Captain Prieto will work hard to make your fishing trip an experience of a lifetime. Captian Jason Prieto is a USCG licensed captain and is an active member of the Florida Guides Association and NACO.

Rates and News

We offer a 4hr, 6hr and 8hr fishing charter from Tampa Bay. Typically we leave the docks by 8:00 am, the day of your trip and for afternoon charters by 1:00 pm. We fish the flats and backcountry waters of Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg, using light tackle and/or fly equipment. We can accommodate up to 4 anglers, and we can arranged multiple boats for corporate and large parties.
