Specializing in “Trophy” Striper Fishing, owner Captain Jim Durham is a Kentucky State licensed guide who has fished Lake Cumberland year round for most of his adult life. As a former B.A.S.S. tournament circuit fisherman, Captain Jim is also a Staff Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as well as a Coast Guard Merchant Marine Captain. What you Can Expect to Catch – How we Fish
We target the mighty Striper, but also catch Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, as well a big Walleyes! We use only the freshest live Gizzard and Alewives shad, as well as a variety of artificial lures. In the late summer and fall months, we use artificial lures and downriggers to target suspended schools of fish holding in up to 100 feet deep on the river channels.
What to Bring with You – Check List
You will need to bring lunch, drinks (Dry County), warm clothing, soft soled shoes (tennis or deck shoes), sun glasses, sun screen, hat, cooler for fish fillets and rain gear (if predicted). Fishing License (mandatory).
We Can Pick You Up!
StriperFun Guide Service is headquartered at Beaver Creek Marina. However, we can pick you up at Jamestown, State Dock and Grider Hill Marinas year round. January through May we can also pick you up at Conley Bottom. If you are renting a houseboat, with advance notice, we can also pick you up right from your houseboat!
Rates & Reservations
What is Provided?
All bait and equipment is provided and your boat is fully outfitted with marine radio, Coast Guard safety equipment, GPS/fish finders, toilet and a heated enclosure for bad weather. StriperFun will clean and bag your catch (at no extra charge – tips appreciated) and will provide photos for you to remember your trip.

$150.00 deposit is required within 10 days of when you make your reservation for any Striperfun™ fishing 2 day combo trip. The deposit is non-refundable, but we will reschedule when possible with at least 3 week notice. Directions are mailed to you once a trip is booked.
Combo -all inclusive trips include 2 days fishing plus 2 nights lodging with Lake Cumberland view. Lodging includes full kitchen, satellite TV x 2, high speed DSL for internet use, unlimited long distance telephone service (continental US), DVD and VHS players with a wide selection of movies,
full bathroom - hot shower, grill, fire pit, lots of parking and 2 bedrooms (3 beds) for you and/or your fishing partners.
StriperFun Guide Service can be a “one stop shop” for your entire fishing trip on Lake Cumberland!
