Spotted Bear Ranch - Whitefish, MT - Bob Marshall & Great Bear Wilderness

Montana Hunts

Authentic in every way, these guided Montana hunts include: lodging, all meals, horses with tack and professional guides. Care and preparation of game and delivery to a processor in Kalispell is also included. All you’ll need is your sleeping bag (for the wilderness hunt), personal effects, clothes, license, rifle (or bow), scabbard, and ammunition.

Early Season Guided Montana Bow Hunts:

6 nights/5 full hunting days (September)
$2,900 per hunter with one guide for every hunter

Our guides are experienced bowhunters who know how to get you close in during the heat of the elk rut and bugle season. You will hunt rugged country with strong elk populations and limited hunting pressure. The comfortable Spotted Bear Ranch lodge is a perfect base for this hunt. You and your personal guide – one guide for each hunter – can devise your guided Montana bow hunt to be as demanding or as leisurely as you would like.

Guided Wilderness Bugle Elk Hunts:

8 nights/7 full hunting days (mid-Sept. through October)
$4,100 per hunter with one guide for every two hunters

This is the trip for the serious trophy hunter! You will pack into the “Bob” to our Dean Creek Camp – 25 miles from the ranch. Hunting by horseback and on foot, this challenging and rigorous western-style adventure puts you into territory only a privileged few have trekked before. Some of this timbered range climbs to 7,800 feet. Guest facilities at the camp include roomy wall tents, wood burning stoves, propane lamps and solid beds. A separate large dining tent is home to impressive outdoor cuisine with a surprisingly varied menu – and plenty of it. In addition to trophy elk, during this trip it is common to encounter bear, moose, mule deer, wolves, grouse and bald eagles. Pack your rod too, because fishing for feisty native cutthroat trout can be excellent through early October.

Lodge Elk & Deer Hunt

6 nights/5 full hunting days (late October through November)
$2,900 per hunter with one guide for every two hunters

By late October, snow begins to accumulate in the high country – driving the bulls to lower elevations, making them easier to track. You will stalk game by horseback, 4-wheel drive and on foot. Hundreds of miles of backcountry road provide access to nearly limitless big game habitat – some of which ranges to 7,000 feet. This late season guided Montana deer or elk hunt is geared toward the sportsman who enjoys a nice hot shower, warm dry cabin, chef prepared meals and other amenities not typically found in the backcountry.

Guided Montana Spring Black Bear Hunts

6 nights/5 full hunting days (May)
$2,100 per hunter with one guide for every two hunters

Black bear thrive in the country surrounding Spotted Bear Ranch. In May, after emergence from a long winter hibernation, they begin to forage along our hundreds of miles of snowy mountain roads and trails. With our lodge as a base, we track in 4-wheel drive vehicles and on foot. Our guided Montana bear hunts are strictly fair chase -- we don’t use bait or dogs. You may hunt with rifle, bow, or pistol with a high opportunity for success. And these bear – with their stunning, sleek coats of chocolate brown, cinnamon, blonde, or black – make magnificent trophies.
